DCPC’s Speaker Series at the Fairview Residential Reentry Center Features Charles Hart

Updated: Aug 8, 2020

DCPC hosted its first Speaker Series of the year, during February (2020), at the Fairview Reentry Center for women. The featured speaker Charles Hart, DCPC Director of Communication & Media, engaged a packed audience. Hart gave a riveting motivational message about the importance of setting goals and defining one’s purpose as the residents prepare for their transition back into the Washington DC community.

Hart advised the residents to take advantage of opportunities and programming provided to them in institutions like the Fairview. Hart also encouraged the audience to find their “superpowers” within. During this powerful talk, Hart advised the audience to dream, visualize, and to “evoke” their dreams into existence.

The audience included DCPC members and some staff. Everyone departed with a sense of uplift and encouragement. DCPC provided refreshments for all attendees.

As a final take away, Mr. Hart reminded the residents that fostering success might require changing a prior circle of acquaintances and moving forth with intentionality in their lives.

Needless to say, Hart’s message was internalized as a means of hope by the residents. DCPC applauds Hart’s participation in the Speaker Series. We encourage our diverse staff, volunteers, and constituents, to sign-up and share their own “superpowers” with others as well. If interested, please click on “Contact” to be considered for our monthly series.
